Usually around the third week in January, or so. Last year first tier was $210. plus shipping if you got hardcopy. This year will probably be more, it usually is. Tier one sells out fast, plus if the server crashes, life gets interesting real quick.

I'm only guessing here, but I think they will be going on sale January 13th at 10:00am pacific time, 1:00pm eastern. Again guessing, but I think the prices will hold from last year and start at $210 or possibly $220 is they feel the economy is improving.

The Christmas gift tickets were pretty successful last year and it brought in funds early for BMorg. If I had to guess at whether they will do it again this year, I would give a resounding, "maybe"!

This is such a great idea for those who can't wait for the tickets to go on sale in January because they can fondle and molest their ticket as much as they want, well before all the commoners. It also makes a perfect holiday gift for the mailman, instead of a mundane bottle of Old Spice Aftershave, homemade cookies or a fruitcake. (not that there's anything wrong with fruitcakes)

But there absolutely is something wrong with fruitcakes.

This makes it easy for a Christmas list.

Shambala gets fruitcake
OneEyedDick doesn't

Dammit, Dick! I deserve respect, down to each suspiciously moist crumb!

I'll definitely buy my ticket early this year, that way I force myself to go because I already spent money on the ticket. Very Happy

Hopefully they don't go up much.

What's this about Giftmas tickets?

Last year there were tickets, priced as 2nd or 3rd tier, available in December, in case you wanted a stocking stuffer for that special someone.

They were third tier, I bought a pair of them. That'll teach me to surf without my glasses on Laughing

From http://www.burningman.com/:
Quote:
Tickets for Burning Man 2010 go on sale on January 13th. We'll also be offering a limited number of pre-sales tickets in time for Holiday gifting, starting in November. More info to come, but in the meantime, mark your calendars.

I bet some of us, if we get in on first tier, would be willing to get an extra for you........

Only two per person, per tier. I'd not ask for such a drastic favor. Plus, I need two, one for MyLarry.

Although I might trade a week with us in a condo on Big Island for a ticket. Full kitchen, private bath... we're not using the second bedroom. Nice resort in Kona... hmmm?

You want it? I can't justify buying first tier for myself. we could work something out.

Nah, we are after all, going to Hawaii. We can swing second tier or even third. Of course the reason we're chronically on the edge of broke is I bought a Worldmark membership before I discovered Burning Man. If we don't use our annual vacation time, we lose it. Basically paid for already, just maintenance fees, rental car, food, entertainment and airfare.

And for me, the edge of broke means the savings accounts are lighter than I like and I have bills to pay. It doesn't mean we don't have an income which pays the basics and have enough for Burning Man and a vacation now and then. I truly can't complain legitimately; I'm just budget minded.

Now I'm just embarrassed I have a nice little life. I was just whining. Sorry!
