| We don't use them. Just a nut and bolt on the FuckIt dome. |

From what I've seen, alot of folks end up making their own hubs, to fit the specifications of their particular dome. If your dome is made of EMT, you can use nuts and bolts at the vertices, like the Fuckit dome. If it's to be made of wooden struts, try "starplates":

If you want a dome with PVC pipe struts, you might go with something like this:
