thats a great question with many spin offs...
would you put a robot brain in flesh?
the mingling of the two is now ubiquitous, my mom has two replacement knees, my dad, all kinds of plastic plumbing around his innards.
hell, even dick cheney has a robot heart....(sorry robot heart, i didnt mean to associate you with dick cheney, it just slipped out, my bad)
i guess to answer the first question, certain conditions would have to be known, can i upload my experiences (my brain) into lab grown, genetically modified NEW FLESH(tm) or do i have to do a hard wire to my spinal column and exist inside a metal box.
with that said, also consider how the mind works, especially with prosthetics.
studies and experiments have shown amazing adaptations on our behalf (as well as test monkeys) to actually "feel" our new appendages and have sensations because the bone interprets the vibration and the brain fills in the blanks. sort of like phantom limb, but in reverse.
after a while you wont know the difference, except when reminded by stimula or others that your existence is simalacre.
pretty cool, huh.
ok, gotta go, have to swap out my batteries and feed the monkeys.
