Ok I thought the GIANT dome over at 9:00 and esplanade was the deep end...I refer it as the RAVE DOME. If that is not the deep end, then what is that called...and more importantly are they coming back!?

Deep End was the massive daytime rager at 7 ish and corvair-ish-dart that looked like the ok corral, if sigfreid and roy provided the clothes.

They wont be back this year, *deep sigh* so we've decided to crash the disco duck compound during the day and scarf on their hookers and blow.

and listen to Huey Lewis and the News, just because we can.

yeah, between the switchover to polka, and the lack of the deep-end, the West Side of the playa is going to be a fucking free for all.

Simple to find - at about 10am walk down the 9oclock street, past the med tents, past the banks of porta poopers, and follow the pounding OONTZ sound. walk another block - its on the left. Rumor is Deep End may be packing it in - so who knows.

No Dome, only western themed buildings

you are of course referring to Tweeker Dome aka Root Society. I would hazard a guess on their return...but who knows.... If not, don't worry, there will be other tweeker domes to fill its void....There always are.....The real question is who will fill the Deep End's void? Please don't say Pink Mammoth..... And more importantly, will this tip the balance of power to the other side of the playa (i.e. 2:00 - 6:00)? Doubtful, but who knows....

Well, maybe. Opulent may have thumped its last thump.
When I first burned, not too long ago, there was no Opulent. I'm not sure there was a deep end, although there may have been. I certainly didn't notice it.

Things exist, then they go away, and something else crops up. Not the same, but different.

Pretty sweet that this years' theme is Evolution, eh? Transition, change, delta, destruction, creation.

I think I may go this year after all.

I can't go into all of the personal gory details, but to try and sum it up:

It was late Thursday night/early Friday morning. I had been there since Monday and had experienced just about every level of stress and frustration you can imagine. My first burn was not really going that well. I felt abandoned, lost, alone. I hadn't really had any fun yet. It was all bullshit.
I wandered back to camp. Didn't really know what to do with myself and probably started to cry.
Then I remembered talking with one of the Space Cowboys guys earlier in the week and how he said "we're going to have a party...out there...on Thursday night." Now, I had come across the Unimog a few of the other nights, and every time is was like "oh fuck! they are playing my shit", but the circumstances did not allow for me to get my groove on. In fact, I hadn't actually danced even once. I had been there for 4 fucking days dealing with nothing but drama, crisis, and other people's agendas.

So, I just started walking in the general direction the dude had pointed and before long..way the fuck out there...almost to Oblivion..maybe further I don't even know..I start to see some lights...then I hear the beat...that dirty funky new breaks shit that just makes me go fucking mental....I arrive. I dance. The sun rises. I dance some more..I go back to camp. I dance some more. I stay up for 48+ hours..I dance some more...I take my burn back. I make it mine.
The Burn
I dance
The Temple
Some really spiritual life changing shit that I won't go into.

And my life is changed forever.
I was heading towards death, but now I walk in life.

If they didn't have that party way the fuck out there I don't even know what would have happened to me. Maybe the same thing in a different way? Who knows.
All I know is it all turned around for me waaaay out on the playa in the wee hours of Friday morning busting that shit out and just cutting loose.

Fuck, we're still like 5 months away aren't we?
