PS Glasers use tiny shot pellets covered with a tip. They were designed for crowd control but work well in apts and situations where a miss or overpentration is an issue. Lethal in a soft target though.. a little different from the current school of powdered metal pressed slugs.

I have had those, but they tell me they no longer make them that way, that it is a pressed design now.
May be a balance thing?

I think you may be confusing Glasers shot method with companies like Sinter that use powder thats compressed. When you carve open a Glaser removing the plastic ball you'll see the "birdshot".

I gotta try and find a way to get fang faces to feed properly in my Wilson Combat.. I think its a feed ramp issue but they feed OK in the Kimbers.. go figure.

Come to think of it my Glasers are a few years old. I'll have to swing by the ol gun shop n see if the new ones look any different.

Polishing the feed ramp is the first thing I do, I am a toolmaker/machinst after all. The ONLY firearms I own that I didn't have to fuck with are the Wilson Combats. But for over 2K each I better not have to mess with em. The Kimbers are kinda like Franken45s.. I have homemade firing pins, extractors, modified ports, and one of a kind double recoil springs that took me YEARS of trial and error. My main goal with those 2 guns was to get hydrashocks and corbons to feed whilst triple tapping.

In all honesty the ONLY reason I like those fang faces is cuz they LOOK mean. I'm a sucker for appearance.

A note about custom extractors.. DONT BOTHER trying to make yer own, Its too much of a pain in the ass! But lightening the slide and serrating the front is dandy as hell.

I took a lil from the sides, beveled the serrations to have larger grooves, ground all the sharp edges and corners to copycat Clarks "meltdown" look and to decrease the risk of snags. With stainless steel slides the mass is a lil heavy to begin with. The trick is to match up your recoil springs to the slide weight. I basically just took alot of what the IPSC guys do to their guns, just not nearly as lightened.

I didn't want to pay a grand for a gun lookin like a used bar of soap so I did it myself

I still lived up north at the time and wanted to be able to operate quick with gloves.

I can see how you could get away with that with stainless.
My 9mm is 14 oz empty.
I'm not sure I could get away with lightening anything.
I might get something a little larger for winter.
Any suggestions?

The AK bullpup is working.
I thought it would just be a novelty, but now it's the only one I want.
It's slightly shorter than a standard one with folding stock.
The magazine removal is tricky with the 40 round.
It's wonderful with a 10-15 round.
Interestingly, balance doesn't change with the larger mag due to the arc.
The new frame is made of a drilled U tube and looks very different from a standard AK.
Only the gas tube and front sight is recognizable.
I want to continue the theme and make it completely unique in appearance.
Weight is 6 1/2 pounds in steel and wood.
The lightweight one is 6 pounds empty (standard AK).
I love it.
Easy one handed operation.

I was looking for a story from San Diego about a guy on crutches who stopped a home invader, but it seems so many robbers get beaten up by people on crutches, by the crutches, that i can't find it.

I think it should be an assumed risk that someone may try to stop you.
The burden of proof should be on the criminal to prove they are not a threat, if it has to be an issue at all.

I think thieves are always prepared to harm others, except when they think they might lose out.
That is why they do what they do.

It is always about their being willing to harm others.

Why should a citizen have to take any risk at all?
