hey, i've seen these guys and this big bus with the huge round parachute a few times. they play some classic cover songs and pretty much rock it. the singer guy's got a great voice. they were hangin' out near the hookadome for a few nights......who are they? anyone? anyone?
Glad you enjoyed the music. For this trip we were called The Mixtape Conspiracy...but we have been known for years as either:
The Kaosmosis No-Star All-Stars
The Nowhere Band
Stynx
After Me Gold
Manaconda
...and so forth. The singer is John Averill from March Fourth Marching Band...the drummer is Ryan Moore, the guitarist is Dave Camp, the bassist is Arthur Parker and I'm Carl Tietze aka Solovox (an electronic performer here in Portland).
We were on the Mobile Groove Bomb from Portland...hope you enjoyed the show and I apologize for my solo in 'Bloody Well Right.'
I said it somewhere else here, too, but I'll say it again. Ode To Joy was absolutely perfect that night, at that moment, with the fireworks blasting off like they were. We were watching the burn from just off Esplanade, to the right of the Mobile Grove Bomb and it was wonderful.
Thanks again from myself and some other folks who were camped with BWB this year. You made it grand.
The New and Improved Black Cat... now with 25% more blather
And to my DISMAY...I forgot to mention that the great Jason Wells from Trashcan Joe was a our guest vocalist on much of the Beatles material...he sang 'All You Need Is Love' and 'Instant Karma' among others. I love you Jason!
