A lot of us can pick out these sock puppets these people are innundating the board with, and

A lot of us can even see the culprits who are making these accounts, and

A lot of us keep trying to bring this to the Admin's attention, and

a lot of us are fed up past here with these people who deliberately flaunt their breaking the TOS rules,

THEN WHY...

Don't the Admin's see it, and why don't they shut down the sock puppet generators and their sock puppets?

Is it such a big deal that people like diplom and this 204-synaix and all the others generate dozens of bogus accounts which violate the TOS all the time? And if it isn't, wht do the admins the go after others who do the same violations?

After all - were I to put an advertising post on the board, I'd be slammed out of hand (and rightly so)... as have others... but these accounts just keep growing and growing and growing...

Finally - I've read the TOS... other sites aren't afraid to enforce theirs, why is this one so leary of shutting this kind of shenanigans down?

The other option is to start *another* alternate board. Personally I just think the admins need to loosen up on the reigns a bit and hand out some of that autonomy to the folks who demonstrate they can handle it.

Thanks Sputnik, I totally agree with you. If Spec and I and the other mods had the access, we could have shut this guy down at 50 posts.

As it stands now, There are about 4,000 posts from this ass hat to remove. That's a lot of work.

The bottom line is that the answer to these problems isn't "whack-a-mole" it's about installing the proper mods the system, and empowering more than two people on the planet (one of whom never reads these boards anyway) to be able to fix things.

Old, old thread. We, your brave mods, pick off the spammers as soon as we can. This includes posts which read as "real" but contain spam links in the sig-line. The username is then passed up to the admins for deletion.
