I have it in my head that I heard somewhere that the BM org has made a small grant to fund a training/education program for local fire departments. My guess is that they want to familiarize the fire departments with what fire spinning is, and convince them it is safe enough to allow in a variety of venues.
Does anyone have any facts to clarify or refute what I thought I heard about?

A VERY proactive idea given the number of spinners I've seen at bars/shows/events over the past few months.
