This is the first time I have opened this thread and that was on page 8. I had always assumed that it was a joke thread simply because it was about baseball. Which as a sport is a joke; I was once told that a no-hitter was the most exciting baseball game, correct me if I am wrong but that means that about 50% of the time all you are doing is watching two grown men play catch. All this excitement while watching another eight men stand around playing with themselves. Joy.
I do not mean to offend those who like watching men play with themselves.
One of the best statements about baseball I ever heard was a response to "Why do the fielders always seem to be, .... adjusting themselves" Answer: "Well madam, it's a slow game and a man has to do something with himself".
Ok Silver. It's ok really...just bear in mind that one of the ways Union and Confederate troops were able to enjoy eachothers company, was to declare a truce and play "baseball"

I can't believe the Orioles are still in first place. Let me check my watch, they should be due for the "June swoon" any day now. Still, I haven't seen them start off like this in a very long time.

Yeah well your not exactly at the top of the game either!
I give the yankees a month before they over take the top if Steinbrenner doesn't keep doing the No No Nannett (sic) horse race thing!
On must be careful creating curses and the stuff! Just joking of course, since I don't believe in curse- (soft tapping on wood in background)!
Red Sox....on the top of AL East right now....now why don't you see these guys on the covers of baseball cards? always Yankees....what's that all about? Major League Prejudice, if you ask me...
(yes, I still buy baseball cards, 45 years later and still going strong)

I'm glad I'm a Cardinals fan. Unless it's an interleague series or the World Series I don't have to worry about no stinkin Yankees.

don't tell anyone, ANYONE, but in 75 I rooted for the Met's and they won the series, from yes, the Red Sox. Traitor? no, I just didn't like Wade Boggs.
