Health Permit for washing station with RV

Hello Burners,

First time with camp placement, we are serving food and I am applying for the permit through the Nevada Department of Health. We have an RV with running water http://www.cruiseamerica.com/rent/our_v ... ge_rv.aspx . Does anyone know if this satisfies the regulations regarding building a washing station?

Any information would help.

No. You need a three pan system, wash, rinse, bleach solution.

your wash station must be dedicated to hand washing only.. it cant be a dual use thing like an RV sink that you also use for other things

and as crypto says.. theyll expect to see that you can WASH and SANITIZE dishes.

you cant really do that in a 1 tub kitchen sink..

first bin: dish soap and water
second bin: plain water
third bin: very dilute bleach solution.


the soapy water will wash the dish..

the plain water will wash the soap away so the sanitizer works

the sanitizer will sanitize the dish so long as you let it air dry... dont manually dry the dishes from this bath.


this is the type of dish washing station that the health dept would approve


for handwashing.. the first thing theyll want to see..



this would be a perfect setup that they would approve... soap, paper towels and big water container with a free flow spiggot (you need to be able to wash both hands at the same time, you cant have a spigot that requires you to push a button with one hand to get water to come out).... have a catch bucket for the waste water.
