About time I properly introduced my self - Hi!

Postby CaptainDeet » Wed Apr 04, 2012 6:30 pm

Hello everyone! I'll be coming across from Australia , hoping to arrive a week or two in advance and maybe hook up with some other burners! Like many on here, I am a virgin, and have been trawling through eplaya looking for a camp or project to help with. Thought I'd give a bit of info on myself, and if anyone has any suggestions or comments, please let me know!

I'm 24, really enjoy doing physical things (I'm pretty eager to lend a hand on a project or camp, once I find the one for me), very social and looking for some adventure. As always I'll be traveling alone, which I think is best to get you out and engaging with the wonderful people you can meet, if you go for it. Up till now all my prep has been self-centred ie getting costume ideas, camp material, trying to organise transport etc but I'm really ready to put back into the community. Give me a yell and I'll make certain I get back to you. Love to you all, Tom

Welcome to eplaya.
Savannah: I don't know what it is, but no thread here escapes alive. You'll get 1 or 2 real answers at minimum, occasionally 10 or 12, and then we flog it until it's unrecognizable and you can't get your deposit back.

Hi CaptainDeet!

If you're looking for a camp, try the 2012 Theme Camps forum:
viewforum.php?f=283

You'll note there is a thread specifically for Theme Camps seeking Participants, as well as individual threads posted by various camps, and advice on joining a theme camp. It's not necessary to be with a theme camp at all, but when you're coming from especially far away, it can be a good strategy.

Make sure you're talking to other Aussies if you haven't already:

And welcome!

Sorry about that Deet.

I think I'm trying to see how many times I can reply that to "coming prepared" before I die.

I think I just broke a whopping 7. (I need a new hobby)

Besides that, WELCOME!!!
