g'day/howzit from Melbourne/Cape Town

Hello fellow Burners!

We are a small crew of four coming over from Australia and South Africa. We've all burned before at out various country regionals (Afrika Burn and Burning Seed) but with one exception this will be our first time to the mother ship, Ground Zero, aka The Place Where It All Started. We consider ourselves incredibly lucky to have got tickets, and have all sorts of plans for our time in the desert with you all... 10 foot puppets, Bloody Marys, even possibly a little art vehicle if we're really able to get our act together.

I've personally spent many hours here on ePlaya wandering around, checking out as much as possible, everything from heated ticket discussions to obscure corner discussions over the best way to decorate your mother-in-law when bringing her to BM for the first time. Have finally decided to take the plunge and introduce myself, mostly because it's good manners, but also to ask for some advice. I'll post that in the appropriate forum though. For now, hello, and we are chomping at the bit to get to Black Rock City later this year and cannot wait to meet you all.

Big, big love and a disco shake.

Welcome.
Savannah: I don't know what it is, but no thread here escapes alive. You'll get 1 or 2 real answers at minimum, occasionally 10 or 12, and then we flog it until it's unrecognizable and you can't get your deposit back.

Good point... not even here for a few hours and already I'm displaying my profound ignorance of Burner lore. That said... it's close enough right?

Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome though. Amazed by how quick that was - does anyone on ePlaya actually do any real work?

Of course. How else would we pay for the Burn?

Welcome to the board.

(The ePlaya Meet & Greet will be Thursday of the Burn, probably @ 6pm, at the Barbie Death Camp and Wine Bistro. Address to be announced.)

Thanks! Not sure if I'll be able to establish enough of a presence here for anyone to recognise me in time - I see some people have literally thousands of posts :!: But I'm sure it would be fun to put some faces to some of the more notorious individual posters...

I only figuratively have thousands of posts...

Oh come come come PLEASE come, it's not that kind of party, geez... go to the Meet & Greet thread in the 2012 Theme Camps sub-forum and post something, like "I dunno really but I'll try to bring x" just so we have you on the head-count and name-tags lists 8) for the convenience of our coordinator who this year is MEL from MELBOURNE! Hey I bet you guys will recognise each other... 8)

My Dear Friend... you know what? I think I might just! I'm headed over to introduce myself right now. If asked I shall say I was frogmarched...
