Yo! I'm Rob, currently in my first year of graduate school in New Hampshire. I'm studying Molecular and Cellular Biology. This is also my first year going to burning man. I didn't just learn of its existence, I have just never had the means to make the journey. Graduate school is paying me well enough that saving up to go has become an option, so my girlfriend and I signed up for the lottery not even really expecting to be among the few, the proud, the burgins. But we won! So we have decided that it was written in the stars and we must make the journey across to the desert and make it bloom with awesome.
Some things I have noticed is that this year alot of veterans are expecting this year to blow goat balls because new people apparently can't participate, they need to focus on getting wasted and staying hydrated. I would be remiss if I were to make the journey there and have it just not be the burning man and more that I have come to expect from what I see on youtube and documentaries that I rented. I would thus very much like to participate in something. However, I am coming from New Hampshire and don't intend to pack alot of weight, I will either be riding in my itty-bitty Subaru Impreza which can fit next to nothing (it has seen us through a number of 3 day festivals but they aren't exactly burning man) or we will be flying out. However, most of the RV places are sold out already which kinda sucks. Maybe we can rent an SUV or something and buy some obscene amount of water in Reno. We're still planning. The point is, I want to make BURNING MAN happen, not some kind of watered down (hah!) "pseudo-man"! So what can I do!? I'm down for anything but I want to do it BIG!
Thanks!
