Greetings all.

This will be my fist year to the playa! I Don't really know what to expect, beside from the countless photos ive seen and what ive read in the survival guide. My co-worker who's been six times now said its fantastic and that I shouldn't miss it...so I went and bought a ticket the next week :D So yeah, beside the given info...any pointers for a hopeful newbie?

Put lots of lights on your bike, put lots of lights on yourself. Get a camelback. Bring comfortable shoes. Don't forget your tickets.

Talk to strangers, wander aimlessly, enjoy the ride!

I bought the camelbak second! :D And i do believe glowsticks are the best choice for illumination, yes?

And if you tie them to the end a string, their fun to spin around. Spend the first 24 hours acclimating.. lay off th booze till day two. If someone comes by your camp dressed as a carrot, hide the bunny ears. Tomato based food and drinks cut through playa dust in mouth. Wear shoes in the porta potties. Have a great time!

Glowsticks are way too dim even without a duststorm.
Get some kind of blinky LED 'glowstick".
Best with batteries you can change.
