What's happened to the "Did you get a STEP Ticket" thread?

I'm on the STEP list, so I have a vested interest in following that thread. On Saturday, (04-07) the thread filled twenty pages and was very active. Now it's back to nineteen pages and is apparently locked. What's up with that?
NOUN: Of, or pertaining to the tip of the middle finger.

At a guess, there's been some sort of eruption and the mods are looking for the best way to deal with it. In the meantime, they have frozen the controversial posts.
