Volunteer Ops for the Heliophobic?

Postby lightgraywolf » Mon Aug 09, 2010 1:07 pm

Heliophobia = Fear of the Sun. Actually, I'm not afraid of it, I just can't stay out in it for very long. So....

What volunteer opportunities or theme camp events are there that I could volunteer for, that are:

* Not in the sun, or have minimal exposure to it, and

* Will have me meeting LOTS of new people? (a key factor, as I'm generally an introvert but want to really get out this burn)

Temple Guardian. I highly recommend it.

Night vs Day playa time

Can sleep during the day like most of us and come out at night. Night time on the playa is the best time!

Temple Guardians are actually full now (yay!), but if anyone wants to get on the e-mail list to be notified next year, please join the google group: http://groups.google.com/group/temple_guardians

I volunteer in the daytime outside with a lady who does not get along with the sun. She starts with long pants, long sleeve shirt, scarf, sunglasses, gloves and finishes with a big hat. When she has finished donning her burqa there is no skin exposed. Her outfit allows her to spend a week out in the sun.
