ACOUSTIC Music, Anyone?

I don't jam with people much, I'm more of a record on my computer and show no-one type. But I'd love to acoustic jam with some people if they have a spare guitar around.
I'd invest in a I-don't-care guitar but I'm traveling across the country and back and need to travel light.

I'm bringing more or less the gear for a small band - guitar, keyboard, electronic drum kit*, amp, mixer, mics. I don't play anything myself but I plan to haul the gear around in a wagon looking for people willing to jam. I'm calling it "band on the run" 'cause that's how old I am. Got a thread on it over here http://eplaya.burningman.com/viewtopic.php?t=29504

*The "electronic drum kit" is one of those all in one yamaha types - not real high end but probably good enough for the purpose. Keyboard is old cheap casio. Amp is a Roland street, mixer is behringer - all battery operated. Guitar is a strat knockoff. I'll probably bring a digitech multi effects pedal too.

Hi everyone.

This year will be my first BM experience and was really excited by how many people are interested in playing some music.

I have a quick question. Above all other instruments I am a bassist. Will any camps offering a place to play music have a bass for use? I am bringing an acoustic 6-string, but don't want to bring my acoustic bass (it's large and expensive).

So...anyone bringing a bass?

I play (and make) the Uilleann (Irish) pipes. I'm bringing my C-set of pipes for sure, maybe my concert pitch set as well. Will have my penny whistles and bodhran drum also.

I play mostly English dance tunes (Morris / ECD), but I also play a bunch of Irish and Scottish. I tend not to be able to play at Irish Dance speeds, which is why I don't play at the Ceilidhs, but I can bang out a tune or two. I'll be bringing my Manjo (or Banjolin if you prefer), and probably a bodhran (rhymes with Moron, eh?) and a bunch of bones.

Ironically enough, I'll be staying in Hushville, so no jamming at my place!

I would suggest that you look for yourself in the area where you lost yourself. Just more of the common sense that us Civilized Bastards have.
