Water in Reno?

We will be hauling an old 1974 (read heavy) 22 ft trailer from SF Bay to BRC. We really do not want to go "up the hill" full of water. Does anyone know where we can simply have access to a hose so we can fill the camper with city water when we get to Reno? We will gladly pay a reasonable amount to do so.

Just find the closes KOA or any large camp grounds. The have RV dumps and fresh water fill. You might find one in Sparks. If the luck gods smile on you. On that old of a trailer make sure and check the bearings. The grease gets old and shittie just sitting around. Have the lights working. The state cops just love picking on old rigs.

We will be coming in probably Sunday. The KOA deal would probably work, but all we need is water.
Thanks for the tip on the bearings, we have been using it quit a bit since purchased in March, just to get to know it and all. I think you have to jack the thing up to check the bearings, Great!! More fun and games.

There is an ice plant in Reno that allowed us to fill our drums with water. I believe it was called Crystal Ice Co. They charged us some nominal fee and allowed us to get about 500 Gal of water. I can't remember exactly how much they charged us, but it wasn't per gallon or anything.

There are number of places to fill up water barrels, but if you're down to use a hose, you're more than welcome to come by and use ours. My wife and I are going to try to get out to the playa on Saturday, but our roommate will be here. We're not far from the freeway and we wouldn't dream of charging for water. It practically flows from the tap. It's the damndest thing.

I'm curious, how did you move that much water? Did you have ten 50-gallon drums or something? I'll probably be trying to move that much myself this year.

Fat Sam, you are very kind. Be careful though - you could have a line of us around the block. You don't want to come home to open a water bill that will require recussitation.

There is another resource - the gas station at the big casino and RV park on the grade coming down from Truckee has allowed us to fill up our RV for a few years now, but we always call ahead and always buy gas there as well.

We really appreciate the offer. May very well take you up on it. I'm not sure how much this ol' thing holds. I guess 40 to 50 gallons. If people start lining up, I suspect that everyone will do the right thing. Thats the deal with these "damn burners" everyone wants to help their neighbor. Talk about community!

No big deal, Curtis...Like I said, it practically flows out of the tap here. And I'm not too worried about lines, really, or about water bills. We rent and our landlord picks up the tab on the water. I don't think it'll be a problem.
