Work/Voulnteering @ BM

Postby Theashsays » Tue Jan 18, 2011 10:42 pm

So, this year I may be volunteering at the Cafe as a Barista. I'm super pumped to see so many faces, and make yummy coffee for everyone needing a little kick in their step. And/or working [actually making a little $$] in another camp.

I wanted to see if anyone had worked as a barista or in the cafe and what they liked/didn't like about it. Or any work/volunteer work you've done on the playa.

All comments will be taken lightly and genuinely. Just want to hear past experiences!

Excited to see you all out on the Playa this year! <3

Thanks!

Dont expect to make money at Burning Man. Read the First Timers guide. Volunteering is a good way to start!

There are tip jars. Apparently there have even been snotty cafe workers who insist on being tipped.

The tip jars are bullshit.

I've suggested more than a few times that Larry dress up like Jesus, go up to the coffee counter and sweep all the tip jars off of it like JC did to the money changers at the temple.

I refer to Center Camp as "the place were Burning Man goes to die," and this thread proves it.
