I'd like to give another thumbs up to sun4all's suggestions.

I'd also like to add a couple suggestions:

Currently, the large-scale sound art sections are defined by the spoke streets. Sandwichman made a valid point: his 1000-watt system can't survive against the LSSA "ghettos" at 10 and 2, but exceeds the 300-watt limit everywhere else in camp.

Here's a proposal: How about layering wattage from the Esplanade back? Say, have the big systems on the Esplanade and decreasing wattage as you move back through the city until you have the 300-watt limit on the Promenade? Esplanade speakers project out towards the Playa, decreasing layers point their speakers up instead of out.

Does that make sense?
