Kazantip - Festival in Ukraine

The Black Rock Desert phase of Burningman began in 1990 with the Cacophony Society. Kazantip began in 1992 as a party by wind surfers on the Black Sea soon after Ukrainian independence from the Soviet Union. Not a campout and primarily a dance party, it spans 5 weeks. The interesting part are inclusion rituals, such as a passport, orange clothing and yellow suitcases. It is styled as a republic with a constitution and a dictator founder. In the early years it was held in the shell of an uncompleted nuclear reactor. Interesting to see the parallels, differences, and the need for events like these worldwide.

Kazantip is a great event. For people from post-USSR countries it's like Ibiza for Europeans. It's real cult festival for those who likes this Come check it out sometime)

Actually, it's still being held in Ukraine this year. The one in Portugal is a fake who just stole the name... (pretty stupid move from the real KaZantip guys, not copyrighting their name...)
I'm actually going to KaZantip this year!
