Part of what I enjoy about Black Rock City is the same thing I enjoy about everywhere I go.
I like to people watch...but mostly, In recent years at BM I like to watch the "tourists". ...and just try to imagine being them.

...I sometimes wonder...Does this make ME a tourist?

(obviously i don't think so as i am one who brings my comfy organic welcoming home to the playa and invites many said "tourist" in for a chill in the shade and also perform my art(live music) at several locations around town throughout the week and have been a greeter and a coffee slinger....but still)

Reminds me of a photography hobby that I have of taking pictures of people taking pictures of people.

I love to sit in the shade & watch people during the heat of the day- being on the Esplanade means you get to see it all. Added bonus- the Fandango bar is just a few steps behind me so I can stay ... "otherly centered"... while doing it.

and the constant "movie" of a camp full of folks and their roles in setting up camp is enough to entertain me ALL week.
