This year is my first burn. I've never been in possession of a first aid kit until I purchased one in preparation for burning man. I was glad I had one when I cut my foot wide open today, booooo foot cut....yayyyyy burning man first aid kit!

I totally got blood all over the floor. But the other side of the alcohol wipe left over from the bloody foot made fast work of that. Is there anything these things can't do?

Would that be the first aid kit? The cut foot? or The alcohol wipe?

My first aid kit can supply minor surgery, provide local anesthetic, clean, suture and bandage wounds, immobilize fractures and also measure blood pressure and provide albuterol breathing treatments. It cannot defibrillate the heart, measure blood oxygen levels or take an ECG.

A cut foot probably inhibits more than provides.

Alcohol wipes cannot remove nail polish, cannot make you drunk and most definitely cannot be a source of hydration.

I'm glad you were able to take matters into your own hands,,,,errr feet,,

Well, the cut foot did provide:
A. A source of blood and pain

B. Something to test out the shiny new first aid kit on

C. A diversion which allowed my cat to run off with my bloody sock (for whatever reason she loves stealing my socks)

The cat is also a big fan of my burning man gifts as they are constructed from paracord, I hope you'll like them as much as she does.

Gah! Sorry to hear about the injury, but bonus points for being prepared and self reliant. This is just the tip of the iceberg in preparedness, once you manage to survive a week out in the crazy desert anything seems possible.
