Burning Man circle size this year?

Burning Man circle size this year?

In 2007 Burning Man was small and the deep playa lost a lot of it's beauty. In 2008 it got super big and it was cool because to get to the deep playa you had to travel actually. Then in 2009 it got small again. And in 2010 it stayed small, so small that it couldn't even hold the people who attended without closing in on the deep playa.

So what will the size of Burning Man 2011 be? Please tell me that it will at least be bigger than last year. Please please please! I hate feeling like I am in the middle of a huge crowd in the deep playa on burn night. It ruins it for me.

Hey guys I don't get all the excitement about this. I have looked at lots of images of The Man and can't find a penis on any of them. *sigh* one more derailed thread by the prittle-prattle crew and the popcorn eating gang.

Back to the original posters statement. The problem with the size of the ring in 2008 is that many many people felt it was too large a distance between the esplanade and the man, or from 9 to 3. It made parts of the city feel almost unreachable.

It took the city from pedestrian/bicycle size to motor vehicle size. This became extra problematic because 2008 was a year with small sand dunes that made bicycling difficult/dangerous.

I guess size really does matter!

This size of the fenced in area in 2008 was in fact too big. It went from 7 square miles to 9 square miles, and much of the deep playa was inaccessible to most people, due to the distance and soft playa surface.
I can't imagine that it would ever go back to the larger size again.
