Road surface matters as much as tires.
We had a road near me that was very slick and had dips too.
I saw a car roll across my path at about 45 mph, then flip several times off the road.
All they did was accelerate slightly.
I had been out driving hard, but tiptoed in the slight rain.
They all lived.
Very easy to hydroplane on that road.
Just a hard steering input, even going straight a car would slip.

Going uphill you are using up part of your traction already.
Most highways have more aggressive surfaces on hills, like the interstate near Yggie.
They especially do it in potential snow areas.

For advanced driving keeping the wheels moving the same rate is important, as on ice, whenever they slip.
Hard to do well.

Maybe ten people in the world master driving at any one time.
There is always more to know.

Yeah, I think that the import duty from Japan on those sumo pumps is very beefed up.

A bunch have escaped and live in the area now.

But I had HUGE fun last night reading the art grant application and mentally filling in the blanks with my silly altar project. Oh and chatting with Puppy on the phone about it. Totally distracted him from the shit ton of work he needs to do before the end of the semester. Bad mother.

MyLarry now has his splint off, but has to "buddy tape" his two fingers. Sounds filthy to me. No hand surgery, a relief. But he has to work 6 to noon as there is a second guy on light duty and they split the day shift between them (working in permits in the office). Three weeks of being up before five, and at 2/3rds pay. Could be worse. We get to go to Santa Rampage in Vegas at least.

No bunnies or salmon, more skunks and deer. Kamikaze deer.

I had a dream about getting up and feeling absolutely wonderful (as well as a lot younger and healthier). I was really annoyed when I realized it was a dream and, of course, woke up shortly thereafter.

No coffee for me. I never developed the taste for it. Ice tea is my preference. (And I PROBABLY should make it regular tea, not Long Island or Company Tea.)

well, back from the dentist.........I have a broken tooth, but he thinks since it's only one side, he can repair it. yay!!
and, he says did pretty good with my "once a decade" office visit. no cavities since the last visit in 02.
so, yay that!
Says I brush too hard, though, and am shredding my gums.......dang my dainty touch.

Says I can use a cleaning,too. haha

Glad you're getting that break tended to. A dental student cracked my tooth once and it wasn't caught in time, yada yada yada, resulting extremely painful crown done on a tooth that just should have had a root canal to begin with, followed by said root canal.

I'm not sure what is at the bottom of the pit under the toilet, although my guess is the Remain of Enemies! One of my Facebook friends posted the picture, but I don't know where he got it.

Every time I go to a dentist I get lectured for brushing too hard, and get instructions on how to brush my teeth exactly the way I HAVE been brushing them! It seems on one has told my gums that they aren't supposed to keep retreating when I brush them the "right" way.

Hey 420, I suffered for years of intermittent basement flooding and finally got a sump that doesnt have to be submerged. It will suck up nearly all the water that gets in there. Less than $80. Just have to remember to turn it off.

Just got out of jury duty, still never been picked for one and now I have another 18 month reprieve. Yay!

Yeah, thanks Savannaha, I'm pretty happy about no cavities (except beteen my ears), too. I don't know I'll ever find that happy middle ground for brushing......ah well.
I have one crown, from another broken tooth.......dang it. But it was sort of cool, in that a gal friend of mine owns the dental lab so, put my initial in the crown for me........hahhaaa.

It's pouring rain, again........and again they're calling for worse by tomorrow. all those poor people in low areas.

I'm thinking Infinity Mirror. The floor level is a half-mirror. A box leading to the crawlspace, lined with fake bricks. Bottom is a real mirror.

Either Samsung or LG recently did a gag to promote a new line of LED display panels with very thin bezels. They arranged a series of them on the flooring of an elevator and covered it with a heavy-duty enough glass that it could support weight. Passengers would ride the elevator, and the displays showed what appeared to be a normal flood beneath. Periodically throughout the day the prank would go into effect, with elevator lights flickering and the sound of something horrible happening and the glass flooring cracking and breaking. A hidden camera was of course filming their reactions.

I also hope there's a decent temperature drop in the mountains for those who need it. The rain's much needed, but I read an article about how because of warmer temps not all the ski resort places were able to benefit. Just a couple degrees means the snow level is a lot higher, that's got to suck for ppl depending on the resort traffic and business to have their place mostly mud while the guys on the taller mountain are packing 'em in.
