Hi fellow burners. I did something profoundly stupid, but kind, and I need your help.
I shared a ride from Reno with a woman named Tatiana, who I'd not met before. She is a bellydancer, lives in Chicago, and said she used to date the man behind the Earth Harp. I thought she also said she works at Columbia. She did not return our shared rental vehicle (or so Avis says anyway). I'm in the process of filing a police report, etc., but I'm hoping perhaps she did return it, and that the rental company is mistaken somehow. I need to talk to her to get her side of the return process (or lack thereof). Please help me find her, and more than that, if you know her, help make sure she contacts me vs. leaves me in the lurch with this. I did her and my fellow passengers a kindness, as their debit cards wouldn't work for the rental. I put up my credit card. I don't want to be punished for this action, as it truly felt like the burner thing to do. Now I realize it was just a stupid thing to do. Sigh.
I seem to remember her saying she was with Sacred Spaces (?). I've contacted them and am awaiting information. Fellow research-minded burners helped me find her based on the information I do have and found someone on LinkedIn who seems to match, but who denies being the same Tatiana. This is her page, and she looks like the woman I rode with, but it's hard to tell with just that one picture (?!?!): http://www.linkedin.com/pub/tatiana-fonseca/28/175/801
Upon searching the Chicago burners, I found a Tatiana who looks much more like the woman I rode with: http://www.facebook.com/tatiana.c.sanchez.5
I apologize if I seem to have libeled or slandered the other Tatiana here. I'm just desperate to find the right one!
Two others unknown to either of us, Sylver and Takako, also shared the car and were supposed to ride back with her, get it cleaned, turn it in, etc. They camped with the Church of Stop Shopping. The leader of that camp is trying to contact them for me right now to see if they were, indeed, in the car and if it did, indeed, get turned in. (Thanks.)
I am a community college instructor, and live month-to-month. I have a small child. I will go bankrupt for years upon years if I have to purchase this car from Avis.
Here's what I've dug up so far:
She could be the Tatiana listed here: http://resonatechicago.net/
Here is the FB profile that seems to match the linkedin one above: https://www.facebook.com/TatianaFonseca02
Here's an article about a bellydancing Tatiana in Chicago (I've called the woman in charge of this studio, but haven't heard back if she got in touch with Tatiana): http://www.lifeforcearts.org/site/trans ... cing-bliss
My fear is that someone perhaps stole this Tatiana's identity to run a scam? She really knew all about Burning Man, though; but I guess that doesn't preclude scammers...? I'm trying to have faith that the fault here is Avis's, not hers.
