VANCOUVER—B.C.’s top health official says taking pure ecstasy can be “safe” when consumed responsibly by adults,

Sadly, this guy is only a bureaucrat and does not have any political power to make it happen. The Canadian government right now is pursuing draconian drug-war policies, and the police quoted in this article seem to be lobbying for more of that.

Still, seeing such sensible talk about MDMA from a high-ranking and knowledgeable official gives a glimmer of hope for sensible drug policy in this country, eventually.
