There's a rumor that BMORG got authorization from the BLM to sell 75,000 tickets. There will be plenty of tickets for everybody, and many people will be stuck with any extra tickets they bought.

due to budget cuts, gate will only be 2 lanes, and only during daylight hours.
If you don't exit hwy 80, and get in line in Wadsworth, by opening Monday, you won't get there before the Man burns.

Not only that, in the 15,000 ticket tertiary sale, the pricing tiers are $200, $240, and $280, with 5000 tickets in each tier. The sale begins on May 6th, 12:00 PST - which is National Tourist Appreciation Day.

Tertiary tickets come with a 14k gold electroplated commemorative 2012 burning man dollar coin - a unique and collectable gift that will never be minted again.

An army of fire marshals numbering around 10,000 will storm the gates and stop all fire unless you have the proper permit.

Prince Harry was there last year.

2010 was the last year. There is no Burning Man, but people keep showing up anyway.

I heard that Burning Man is nothing but a gigantic sting out in the desert where the government tries to catch drugs. They use your ticket money to fund the operation and then take you to jail for just showing up.

It seems like she needs to choose just one, there. :D Unless she's implying that you will bitch & moan all week long, reaching a dramatic fever pitch on Saturday night, when you will shriek your final complaints and swan dive gloriously from the top of the 'Man into the roiling flames below?

(In which case, tell her: "Sorry mom, they close the 'Man's platform on Friday night. It's either die instantly when a night-time skydiver lands on me, or nothing.")

I overheard some actual fraternity brothers at Whole Foods talking about how they cornered lottery registrations ... evidently the entire Greek Council of UC Irvine are in on it! UC Freaking Irvine. I just cancelled the Credit Card I used for the lottery so I don't have to suffer with those douche bags! Don't know how they'll tie in the Elephant Dance into Fertility 2.0. It doesn't make any sense, but they will. They were talking about it the bulk food aisle. Since when do Frat boys eat lentils?

At some point on Friday, August 29, 2012 it became overwhelmingly clear to the promoters of the Burning Man Arts and Music Festival that they were being overrun. The tide of enthusiasm, the groundswell, was growing out of control. It was an emergent, organic, spontaneous overflow of a social stream that had been brimming for quite some time. To try to bend it to their will, to try to put up barriers and walls, was little more than a exercise in futility. Forces outside of their control were making decisions for them— profit be damned.

Shortly after OWS/eplaya-renagades cut the fences open. MC Larry Harvey announced “It’s a free festival from now on.” What else could they have done?

The pre-Manburn show this year, instead of the fire conclave, will feature a SparklePony rodeo to a DubStepInTheRound sound track with all MV's linked to whomp in sync...

I read on Facebook (so it must be true) that even "The Man" didn't get a ticket this year so we are going to burn all the RVs instead. I bet BMORG feels silly now
