My manager and assistant general manager were fired over the weekend.
partly due to retaliation efforts against me for questions asked during an employee meeting. Woot!

Now just the supervisor left, but if we actually hire a cio that knows her head from her ass (which the new CEO's hires have been EXCELLENT so far, but a little heavy on the white man side of things), my supervisor will be gone soon after opening her mouth and showing the depths of her duh-ness.

I really hate to see anyone loose their jobs..... ok, not so much with these two

I'm glad their cowardly actions have been punished. It might not make them better people, but they might think twice about doing it again.

I don't know all of what happened, but from what I saw, I feel like you got a raw deal.

I'm in the Netherlands for a few days before my trip to the Arctic Circle. Tomorrow night I'm meeting up with a few of the Dutch Burners in Amsterdam for beers. Should be a happy time! :D

WE'll just credit it to excitement, and never speak of it again. You deserve a little celebratory loose spelling after what you've been through.

Walked a block to the park, barefoot, then ran around it, on the grass track for 1/2 mile. All my neighbors came out and said "Hi". It was magical. I think that'll become a regular thing for me.

Had a "Happy Toronto" experience today.

We spent part of the afternoon at the beach on Ward's island for a friend's birthday celebration. After taking the ferry back into the city, we had dinner and wine on a patio. We could hear that there was a concert happening somewhere nearby. Walking home, we, encountered said concert: Approaching Yonge/Dundas square, we heard "Do you realize..." Nice! Flaming lips was playing the square for free. We got there right at the end, just in time to hear that one song, but it's my favourite of theirs anyway.

A nice benefit of big-city life!

At the :58 second mark is a quick shot of Barbie's Mobile Whorehouse on the open playa after the burning of the man. We're using our fire cannon to cook hotdogs. We handed out over 300 of them last year and intend to do the same this year. If you can find us we will feed you.!

:D

Two months till my vacation officially begins and I touchdown in California.

I'm getting so anxious and excited! I get to see my family and my friends, many of which I have not seen in what will be over a year by the time I get back, and a few of them will be going with me to my first journey to the ol' burn.

I backed a project on kickstarter that I will be able to participate in, just adding more excitement to the equation.
today was its final day and it was 100% funded so it's gonna happen!
check it out here: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1918283894/journey-home-a-collaborative-multi-media-art-proje

Can't wait to see all you dusty fools in the desert.
anyways, carry on, :D

Random city encounter! There was a Steampunk street fair on in downtown Toronto yesterday. I didn't know about it until I happened upon it. It was pretty small -- maybe 18 or so vendors, about half of whom were selling stuff I would actually consider steampunk (the rest ranging from "Things That Are Not Remotely Steampunk" to things that are not remotely steampunk). The nice stuff, though, was very very nice, indeed. There were some beautiful hats, goggles, corsets, dresses.... much to get inspired by!

Fuck yer American Gothic!
Great to see you two :D

Espressodude, Helga, and my extremely uncontrollable ass shot a 500+ shell public fireworks show Saturday night.
It was ok. I might do something like that again...

I actually left the firing line for the last third of the show in order to shoot photos.
I'm gonna go get checked out.
