I almost posted my favourite Damned song (and Joy Division, and Bauhaus, and Siouxsie and the Banshees, the Slits, the Cure, early Go-Gos, post-punk, no wave, onandonetccetc), but generally they're not thought of as "punk." Those of us who are awful people and will argue about such things know better, and also would denote Lunachicks are some bad-ass rock-and-roll - grant "punk ROCK," but somehow they never became associated with riot grrl - but I was generally trying to post some out-and-out punk besides the well-known.

That deliciously muddy time in the 70s/80s when it wasn't all split up is where all of my favourite bands come from.
FEAR played the club I used to work at, and having beer while they sang "More Beer" was pretty great.
