Oh, come on. Iso is definitely a sock. As far as the effect she has on the board goes, that's a separate issue. But she is a separate identity used by the same user: a sock.

Both Bob and Ivy make points about Iso's behavior, and they are good points, but they are still describing the sock. Now, I enjoy Iso's posts (more than Badger's, to be honest) a great deal. I hope she continues to post. But, by that admission, I have to acquiesce this much:

I don't think sock puppets are the problem.

The problem is a couple of douche bags who think it's funny to poison a board, or are so delusional that they think their ridiculous and poorly spelled melodramatics are worth 50 posts a day.

It doesn't matter how many socks they have. They'd be, as one far more eloquent than I once posted "flapping [their] arms and farting" and just as annoying with only one identity. And those who do have substantive and worthwhile (by my estimation, at least) contributions, like whoever it is that types for Badger and Iso, can express different aspects of their personalities, thereby contributing two very different flavors to the board.

I thought about it in the shower and I still disagree. My line of thinking is that Badger:Isotopia::Kinetic:Kinetic II. Same person, same ideas, same style--the only thing differnt is the name.

Puppets are by nature hollow, to be controlled by someone else. Neither Badger/Isotopia does not fit that description.

The big (and obvious, I think) differences between Badger/Iso and Kinetic/Kinetic II are

1) It is plainly obvious to even a casual observer that Kinetic/Kinetic II are one and the same.

2) Badger/Iso are used simultaneously, whereas Kinetic retired with the advent of Kinetic II. Your argument about the original creation of Iso due to difficulties with signing in as Badger, though I do not doubt it's veracity, does not hold, since both are still in use. He (or she) chooses to use both identities simultaneously, without having made it clear that only one person is behind them. To me, that's what a sock puppet is.

Dildo, Trinity Bay, Newfoundland. Located in Upper Trinity South, Dildo is a very historic place that was settled in the early 1800's by Reids, Prettys, and Smiths during the 1990's, these names were still predominant names in the community.

In 1889 a permanent fisheries commission was set up for the Colony and a fishery was established on Dildo Island under the direction of A. Neilson, Superintendent of the Fisheries. This hatchery was one of the most modern and largest of its type in the world, and was designed to hatch between two million and three million cod in a season. A spawning pond was added in 1891 and a 5.5 m high wind mill to provided the power to pump sea water into the pond.

In the Twentieth Century dildo was a flourishing whaling centre until the ban on whaling in the early 1970's brought this industry to a close. The closing of the whaling industry also had an effect on the mink ranches because it depended on whale meat as a cheap source of food. In 1955 an entire mink farm was transported from Lester Island, near Vancouver, to Dildo but in the late 1960' rising feed prices forced the ranches to close. Dildo has changed a lot since the 1800's mainly of its economic growth. There are a lot more businesses and resources that have been created and up-dated since this time. There are 2 stores in Dildo and there is another little store that should be open in the next month or two. There are about four or five people in Dildo who have started their own businesses which continues to grow.

Even though Dildo doesn't have a town council it still has many resources and regarded for its activities. Dildo has it's own swimming pool, an S.U.F. lodge, and Lions Center. There is also a baseball field but it's old and falling down so it is rarely used. Every year Dildo celebrates Canada Day and our own Traditional Dildo Days. These events are held on the swimming pool grounds where there are many activities, such as games, swimming, hot dogs, cold plates, and much more. As you can see Dildo is a very historic and traditional community.
