Summer gatherings consist of Four main ceremonies with minor work and social gatherings interspersed among them. The four main ceremonies are based on the center of our existence, OUR FIRE. Our Fire is the true host at our Square, and our four main ceremonies mark the stages of the Fire's life, beginning with its new birth each year at Green Corn.

The ceremonies now last about three days for most of the COMMUNITY, although certain individuals with ceremonial functions are required to FAST and undergo other private preparations period of four to eight days before approaching the SQUARE.Cordinates -Direction
We hold ceremonies on the weekend nearest to the New Moon, whether or not it is the actual time of the New Moon, to accomadate those who must travel far to attend. With all the ceremonies, FRiday is the gathering dayof the Community. Family CAMPS are set up, foods are prepared, CEREMONIAL OBJECTS are laid out, and FRIENDSHIPS are Renewed with those who have come far. Gradually, we make the awesome transition from everyday life to TIME_FRAME of our Square Ground, where TIME
movesa much as it did 200 years ago, according to what we are told by our elders and anthropologists who have visited and are familar with thre literature about old times. WE consider the TIME WE SPEND HERE TO BE SACRED TIME> , and it moves very DIFFERENTLY than TIME in our everyday lives--it is not linear, but CYCLICAL.
