Amazing stuff!
It's easy to forget how thrilling it is to have direct contact with wild animals, but even that video is amazing to me.
More dangerous than it looks though.
Great stuff.

Here's the earliest film of Cab Calloway at the beginning.
Note that this is a very short version of the song, which ends with Minnie's death.
There were a number of related songs too, more extensive drug references in those too.
Kicking the gong around refers to opium.

The walrus is rotoscoped directly from film of Cab dancing.
This was done with some other performers too.

Calloway makes it look easy, but if you listen you will hear that he uses the bass as lead, anticipating the beat slightly, with the drums right on the beat, and syncopated.
Sax follows the beat.
