Any chance on a forum for computing tips and help? Open Discussion gets so flooded that it may help the community to have a special little place for some of the eplayans to ask for help, discuss technical stuff etc. Incidentally this could also be a place to discuss mods for the board and try to raise the awareness of open source options and freeware to users. I know for one I prefer openoffice to Microcrap Office and I saved a ton of money to boot. OpenOffice=FREE Microcrap=HUNDREDS!!. Only reason I am asking is cuz I have seen a few folks have problems in one or another thread about problems relating to computers. With a seperate forun maybe the needs of our community could be addressed in a more timely fashion.

I was all about O.O. until I went back to microsoft. It just runs faster. If I had to pay for it, then I'd probably use O.O. since it's not real vital to things I do. I'd use wordperfect except I've had some conversion trouble with them. Though I love open source it's currently just too inconvenient for me currently. Maybe if I get a new comp it'll run better but I'm still on a 2.6ghz running win98.

I like the idea about a technical forum. If one went up I'd post some ad-hock schematics of how to do some things. Domes, firesigns, firecannons, carports, etc. Right now I could do it in share resources I guess since things take a while to get bumped from there.

I'd like the avatar size bumped a little too. 80x80 is fine with me and bigger than most I've used (but I use old boards). I made one that is 94k, I think, and couldn't use it.

One thing that kept happing was i couldn't locate some of my friends at BM when i went to look them up at the info center.

It think what would be cool is if people could upload one picture of there camp site as a reference or landmark so when people are looking they can see it as well.

Not sure if this can be done but it would of been so helpful to have an image of what their camp looked like when trying to find peeps out there.

What you see now is what you get. I'm not aware of anyone planning on putting the old stuff back online and I wouldn't even know where the data is, if it still even exists.

It wouldn't be annoying if you only saw the picture once. The one in your signature is definately worth viewing--one time, but the problem is that you see it over and over and over again.

Well thats an easy fix.. Spend LESS time on eplaya!
Just kidding.. I will try to change the picture more often.

That signature picture problem is a pain in the rear...it interrupts the flow of the messages and makes wading through them a general hassle...if there was a way to restrict them just a little bit...I'd love to see it happen.

And I can handle noise....6 years on the playa....and 2 two year olds in the house means I can handle most things. It takes a lot to make me speak up anymore.

If you have to post a photo in your signature, stick with that one or a similar sky shot.

I implemented a max image size mod a while back (which got rid of most of the horizontal scrolling problems) but it doesn't descriminate between images in the body and ones in a signature. I'll take a look and see if it's feasible to do something like that. It kind of annoys me as well.
