Posts no longer showing Edited <times> by <person&a

This could be just me, but I noticed that when I edit my posts it's no
longer showing that I edited them.

Even given our requests to reduce extraneous visual clutter, I think this
is a useful feature. Especially because people can essentially delete
the content of their posts within discussions, making it really hard to
follow the thread of the discussion. If you can see that the post was
edited, you can at least say, "Oh. There used to be something here."

it only keeps track of edits once someone has posted in the same thread after you. this allows for minor corrections right after posting without cluttering up the message space. it's possible that state is checked when you choose to edit, rather when the change goes in.

I went back and edited something in the middle of a thread and it displays
nothing. I edited something I know I edited before and it displays nothing.
I'll try editing the post above and see what it says.

Didn't want to start anew thread to make this complaint....

Why has the edit feature been taken away for new posts. I often wit for a post to load before I edit changes in content, grammar and spelling.

What gives? Just a bug?

The edit is just temporarily disabled. The new version of phpbb, 2.0.6, grouped edit and delete together. So we couldn't give folks permission for one without the other. I figured a couple of weeks without editing was better than giving folks the opp to delete their own posts without a trace.

We are working on the code to separate the two functions

BTW I did announce this (tho in less detail) on the Announcements thread. Does anyone read i?
