Sew Sew Village is looking for campmates

Postby moon_penguin » Mon Jan 07, 2013 2:07 pm

Hi everyone, this is the organizer of Sew Sew Village (formerly Camp Sew Sew). This year we are movin' on up, and we need more people!

The village (thus far) is containing three theme camps the first is Camp Sew Sew, We have electric sewing machines and burners on staff to help (re)create/fix burner costuming. This is the largest operation (again thus far) for Sew Sew Village, and requires the most staff. If you or someone you know are versed in using a sewing machine, PLEASE respond. The working shifts will become shorter the more people we have. But as for now, are looking like 10:00 am(ish) to somewhere around 4:00 pm(ish) one day out of the week. Again, the more people we have, the less hours we will all have to work.

Secondly, we're launching drumroll please, "Victor's Secret".... women's wear for men. Complete with a runway, and costume exchange to get yourself booty-liscious. So if you have any experience with clothing, make-up, or anything else drag queen oriented, we may be the camp for you!

Last, but certainly not the least, soft loving drumroll please "Butt-Rock City." A camp devoted to blasting those tunes you listened to 30 years ago, and can't imagine why. that's right, butt-rock all wee long, so get out your loepard spandex, put in your side pony tail, and get out your lover boy ablum. BRC, Butt-Rock City. Sound like something too terrible to pass up? Have lots of butt-rock on your your ipod? Or some other Butt-Rock related skills? Let us know.

Our Village location will be somewhere in the neighbourhood of 6:00 and F. Usually we are on the corner, opposite the potties. (Given this is subject to slight change).

Think you have a theme camp which my be relevant? Once again, let us know. Like many burners, we are quite open.

Shit, shit, shit! I was just thinking of my idea of "Albert's Secret" this week!
Oh well, I'm glad to see it manifesting, because I'm not going to make it happen. You should get in touch with the Swiss Embassy...
Do you need fabric?
I wish you the best.

Fishy means "The Swish Embassy" (hoist by her own good spelling). They're a "rowdy, sexy, gender-blended, divalicious, fun-loving group" celebrating Drag and fabulousness. Last I knew they had a Facebook page. Indeed, maybe they would be good to talk to/collaborate with.

Neat idea, Sew Sew Village. I love the idea of Victor's Secret. :D

Hello Sew Sew!

Costume Designer / Seamstress / alterations specialist virgin here! I've been looking for somewhere to volunteer and this looks perfect. Please let me know how I can best be of service :)

also... I've costumed and made up drag queens for years and would love to help with our "Victoria's Secret" (or should we say "Victor's Secret") show!

Need a retired designer with 30 years in the fashion business? Off Broadway, Halloween, and drag. Senior level patternmaker. And, yes, I sew everything :!:

Hey I love this theme camp! I am an avid hobby costume sewer!
I really enjoy spending the odd weekend crafternoon sessions!!
Last year I had pulled an all nighter to make a tutu for my friend for his first burning man!
I would love to get to sew for people at burning man! What an honour!
