i have fairly new dreads, maybe 5 months old, they held up great in the playa, except they got a little dried out. especially if you have dyed hair, my advice would be to use some nice dread wax (knotty boy is good stuff) right before to seal them off from the heat. if you don't wash your dreads the playa will probably help bind them up some.

Hell yeah! I used to live by knotty boy. Never been to the playa, but it did work miracles on other camping trips, I'm sure any similiar product would work well for them.
