Cheapest place for cigarettes?

So I have looked at my budget and it is TIGHT. My stupid ass forgot to budget cigarettes in there. Camel menthols are about $6 a pack here. I figure a pack a day so I need 14 packs or a carton and a few. Would it be cheaper to get smokes there or here? If so there where is the best place and how much do they run? Not into the idea of rolling them. I have done it before and not wanting to mess with it on the playa.

Nevada should be cheaper than $6 for Camels- hell, you can get 'em in CA for less than that. I usually pay $6 in CA for American Spirits. I don't know where the discount smoke shops are in Reno, though.

Mill Street in Reno, the Native American smoke shop sells cartons of American Spirit for about $53 plus tax last time I bought there (a month ago). Camels might be about $50 per carton, so maybe not worth the hassle bc Mill St is not exactly in the midst of the big box stores.

Maybe someone from Reno knows of other convenient smoke shops and prices.

I quit 5+ years ago, but I used to buy cartons either at the gas station in Wadsworth or at the smoke shop on the Pyramid road in Sparks on the way up to the desert. Cheaper than the Bay Area.

Quitting was just a matter of cultivating hate for the people selling me cigarettes. Sorry, Paiutes, but I still hate you.

I-80 smokeshop in Wadsworth I believe is owned by the same people that own the smokeshop on Mill Street (Reno-Sparks Indian Colony). Yeah, this is pretty much the cheapest place. You might want to give them a call. I wouldn't put it past them to jack up the prices a bit, knowing people will pay it right before an event. If you're heading through Reno, I'd just get them at the Indian Colony stores in Reno. The best one is on Pyramid Hwy in Sparks, right across the street from a burner store.

Altoids tin for a cigarette case.

It does'nt have to be letuce, but you want to keep them fresh.

Wow, that is really cheap. Rolling my own here in NY costs me 23.71 per carton. Almost doesn't pay since cartons were only 28.00 on the reservation here last time I went, but that's a 3 hour round trip.

Pipe tobaco isn't taxed the same as cigarettes.

So the pipe tobaco makers figured they could get in on the market by making an unflavored tobaco for making your own smokes.

1 pound bag of tobaco and 3 boxes of tubes costs me $26 and yelds 3 cartons.

Any of the "Dotty's" smoke shops here in Reno have cartons for at least $10 cheaper than the Rez smoke shops.

Not sure why no one mentioned the fact that you will probably smoke way more than you anticipate. I always found it funny to watch the kids scrambling for a smoke on burn night, or even friday. Light one up in a crowd, and suddenly you have a crowd of 10 new friends bumming from you.

Buy double the amount you think you need, and then be happy to share and have smokes on the way out.

it seems to be true about folks smoking more than normal...

most people ive known tend toward smoking more at burning man than normal.. often complaining about no ciggs/asking for them before the end of the week

for some reason folks who havnt been before presume smoking LESS.. due to heat.. being busy..etc..

but that doesnt seem to be the case..

I didn't know Dotty's even sold cartons much less cigarettes, hrmm, need to check that out. You'll just have to make sure you don't get rolled by the tweakers when you walk out with your carton.

Cigarettes seem to be one of those items that go up in price the closer you get to Gerlach so I would definitely in or before you hit Reno.

Your $1 (or so) per pack federal tax goes to pay for Children's Health Insurance Program. An additional $0.80 per pack in California and Nevada goes I don't know where.
