I sunk mine about 18" and the were a bitch to get out with a 8:1 lever. But I didn't have one of these:

I can use a cordless drill and use them for stakes.

Easy in, easy out.

My issues with rebar in and out are that I want devices that are easy, cheap, and don't require power. I might be able to use the cordless drill suggestion, but I'll have to see how long the power lasts drilling those suckers in. The drill stake puller is heavy (I have back problems, and I definitely don't want to go into muscle spasms on the playa, even if it is the day I'm leaving), more expensive than I'd like, and single-use (much of Louise's and my gear gets used more than just on the playa).

The video I linked to looks cheap, it looks easy, and it looks like 'get somebody else to do it' would actually be fun -- I can see people actually asking permission to pound my rebar standing on that thing. Call me Tom Sawyer.
