Just had a dream where every single playa disaster i have ever experienced or feared occurred within a couple hours. -

Basically my shade collapsed, someone stole my food and water, i forgot to bring booze, my tent blew away (with all my clothes), and my car burned to the ground with all my ID and money.

None of my playa dreams ever seem to involve Burning Man actually being on the playa - with one exception, but that was not the actual Black Rock Desert, but an extra-dimensional playa accessible only by running into 12-packs of soda.

Before I went to burning man, when I dreamed that burning man was at a grassy state park and in a giant stadium. This made sense as I had never been to the playa and therefore could not dream about it.

But just a few nights ago I was at Burning Man on a stupid riverfront. There were even ATMs.

How do I make this stop?

Although not a nightmare I recently had a really interesting and vivid BM dream. I rarely have such elaborate dreams so that may be why I remembered most of it.

I was outside the hotel we had stayed at in Evanston, Wyoming en route to the burn and saw a group of people running across the street with a pair of short school bus shells from the empty lot next door. These they placed on the sidewalk on their sides and inside they looked like a New York subway car except in various shades of yellow. More folks came and placed small round pedestal tables. I went to investigate and was invited to sit and a young woman came by and took my drink order.

After chatting a while I was invited to come by for some food and went with some of the group to the empty lot where they had set up a 1950's style diner complete with everything except walls. Folks were dancing, spinning poi, and hooping all around. They refused to accept any payment and I said if it wasn't so long since the burn I would think they were burners. They said they were a NYC theme camp and were on their way home from the burn. I said it's the end of November and that seems like a long time to travel between Gerlach and Evanston. They laughed and said it was because every time they stopped it took 1 day to set up camp, 1 day to rest, and 1 day to break down camp.

At that point I woke up wondering what the hell I was doing in Evanston in November.

I dreamed the other night that iwas paying for my 2012 tickets. i was paying in person and was using my debit card. As i went to swipe my card, the card disinegrated into little pieces. I then kept trying to swipe the little pieces...

Wow. I have only had 2 playa dreams. Now I have woken up to the terror.
But because of my belief that only positive dreams are worthy of sharing, and fears and dark thoughts alone to resolve. I will only descibe the dream hot dusty happy loved; then poopie resentfull shamed and mocked.

I had a dream yesterday night where I was at "Burning Man," but it was in a rocky canyon for some reason. Very sunny. I just knew it was Burning Man. Then I was then switched to watching a ballet that was taking place on the show "Muppets Tonight". At first I thought they were going to just show some opera and then cut away, but they instead went on with the show... Stravinsky's Rite of Spring. I watched the first scene of that strange ballet (I saw some video of it years ago) and someone rode out on a unicycle and fell down and had to be dragged off. The ballet ended and outside the theater I met up with one of the performers (who I think was someone from our camp) and told him "That was a great parody of Stravinsky's Rite of Spring!"

I'm serious, that was my dream.

Had my first BM dream last night. Interesting since I'm a Birgin. I have really detailed dreams, and this one was a doozy.

So I start the dream walking up to this gate structure which is obviously the entrance to Burning Man. But to get there you have to walk through which is basically a massive electronics expo with big, bright screens and displays set up by Samsung, Sony, etc. The gate is massive with separate entrances for cars and people. The car gate is closed and won't open till midnight but I can walk though the gate. Far off in the distance is the Man, but the playa looks fairly deserted. What lights there are are dwarfed by the spectacle behind me. Bored, I turn around to leave and bowl over an adolescent girl standing with her mother. I start apologizing profusely , though I notice the girl is not hurt or otherwise upset. At some point in my apologies, I offer to do anything to make it up to them. The little girl says she wants to see a panda. So I get on my hands and knees and try to act like a panda. I freeze because I suddenly realize I have no idea what sound a panda makes. I make some weird combination of a bear and Chewbacca noise and when I look up, the girl is gone. I return to my car which is parked in this massive parking field with thousands of other cars and start talking to this guy I work with. I have no idea why he is there. Eventually I see a line of cars approach and ask if the gate has been opened. It has , and I get in my car to join the conga line as we go towards the gate.

Then I wake up.

Yeah, I thought it was interesting that in my dream they still maintained the separation, that inside Burning Man, there was no corporate sponsors, but outside it was a free-for-all. Maybe the symbolism is that they are knocking at the gate, trying to get in and corrupt the experience. though none of that explains me as a panda.

Also, a FEMA relocation and reeducation camp could be fun.

Had one like that as well. Lake Lahontan was filled in and resorts lined the banks like Lake Tahoe. (Looks at real estate listings again.)

Since the year I forgot to pack ALL my clothes; I don't worry about anything like that anymore. It didn't spoil my burn one bit after the initial shock wore off.

Not as bad as realizing your out of beer, driving back to Fernley only to have your truck break down in the parking lot, and realize that your still naked from being on playa.

Ok. I just had a weird one.
It was in the skyscraper. Two twin towers round ones. Grai, foxfur, a dudain(?), a few folks from my camp. And a skinny version of my brother.

it started out with me and FF playing massage with a girl from our camp who then decided to try out the swing we got she tied it to the railing on the inside court yard(towers were hollow like doughnuts) and launched. then I remember the jet packs I brought and give one to Ff he puts it on and flew accross to the other tower and crashes inside someones camp, its cool though it was made out of couch cussions. he rigs me up a zip line and makes me wait forever while he sets his laptop up to record me, so being naked I decide I have to pee, over the side to the playa below(wtf?)then I realize he is laughing and has recorded that. so I clip onto the rope and launch my jet pack and zoom accross to go get him. but when I get there i am pulled in by a strange girl and a mildly drunk Graidawg. the girl is talking withe this dudain he's explaining the tattoo on his back and how he is a real Dudain. something about pre-egyptian mespotamian sun worship cult that grai is having a hard time grasping. at this time I bite off a chunk of jolly rodger stick and start sucking on it. between the guys thick accent and Grais drunkenness the guy gets mad cause he cant understand grais accent.. I try to clarify and begin to choke. Grai cant figure out what is happening but then does but instead of the Heimrick he grabs me by the arms behind my back and slams me on the ground it doesn't work but now the candy is in my sinus I start snorting and hawking but its stuck. then I wake snoring and choking. weird.

What's weird is the detail.

I dreamed that I didn't have my clothes and I had to walk across town. Then I realized that it was a dream and I could fly across town, and nobody would look up.

Burning Man Social Anxiety in my dreams!

So in the dream, I was laying down somewhere "at Burning Man" and I realized I had to go back to my camp, but it was dark out and I had forgotten ALL my personal lighting. When I sort of rolled over where ever the hell I was, there were all kinds of chemical glowsticks still in their packages. Well, that's when I had this weird anxiety about tooling around with the wasteful-short life-chemical glowsitcks! I think I was concerned about being scorned for having a chemical glow stick!! Or, maybe just general anxiousness about preparation.

Who knonws? Pretty funny in the waking hours, though!

Trust me, it wasn't/isn''t fun at all, they really suck...and not in the good way. (Katrina + no power for over a month)

I've actually had a couple of dreams now... one was just a dream about how the geodesic dome I'm building is going to look like...and apparently we had decided to build other smaller ones instead of tens, we connected it all together and it looked like a moon-base, all white and bubbly and shiny.

The other one was a nightmare. I somehow got to Burning Man (which, incidently, looked a whole lot like a town off one of those old western movies...although everyone was naked) and I had forgotten to bring any water or food. I had to run around from camp to camp and ask for water/food all week while they called me a sparkle pony and made me do weird stuff (like climb a ladder with one arm behind my back and an egg on a spoon in my mouth) to just get a drink of water. But, I stayed there the whole week and hated it because everybody was mean and I didn't find anybody to talk to.

I had a burning man dream a while back. The only thing I really remember is that Simon was really short, really really short. Which is weird since I've never even met him...
