2012 Ticket Destroyed!

There are no words to describe my rage! I just read this story on Burners.me with a video of a 2012 ticket being destroyed.

I've been looking for a ticket since the lottery happened, and this bastard just destroys one. WTF?! Not thinking about the artist or DJ that could have used that ticket to make Burning Man even better this year. Or even just a veteran Burner like me who lost out on the lottery, and might not able to go home this year.

I can't make any sense of it.

Just think of this as one person misplacing their ticket and having to buy a replacement ticket. There are a small amount of tickets that get lost, eaten by pets, or just not used. If making this video was worth $320, then more power to him.

There were 1000 tickets on sale for the whole weekend. There are tons of at cost tickets on sale here and craigslist ... how can you not find a ticket but CAN find an obscure video of some douch nugget waisting his $320 and raising his views count?

Heck, just don't be a complete jerk, I've been offered a few tickets to buy, even being a complete jerk. I skipped signing up for the 1000 because other Burners came through, people I have never met. And why is it always that DJs are doing it for the community, making it better (?) as if they aren't simply having fun for themselves? I am not ABOUT to give some unoriginal performance artist the satisfaction of a page view. (As Junglesmacks mentions, somebody did this last year, too. And it looked like a well-done fake. There's a moment when the ticket drops ever so slightly out of frame, and when it's next seen the paper looks too flimsy. Anyway . . . we argued THAT one into the ground.)

That Mr Bill ticket was burnt to a crisp in that video and was not faked - unlike that other video where the ticket was dropped from frame. THAT is why I'm pissed off.

I've been a burner since 1999, and I'm tired of begging for a damn ticket. I've worked for DWP and gate crew. I've been a greeter and have worked at center camp. I've built art cars and participated in large theme camps.
