But the email I got right before STEP opened said that there were "a couple hundred" that had been put back into the system over the last several days?!
I am confused....

Yeah, "17" tipped me off. I tend to use 7 as the last digit when I invent numbers. I doubt I'm the only one.
Other possibilities: 13, 42, 666...

OK People
Relax! There are only 17 tickets on the STEP have queue anyway. Currently, there are a little over 21,000 on the STEP want list. So, we are going to suspend adding to the STEP want list until we get some more flow on the have queue. Sorry for the inconvenience.

If the server capacity was rented (which is something I'm completely willing to believe--I saw "amazon" in the url) then they don't have to scale up and down the capacity at intervals. Also, if you're not checking often, they can claim that you don't really want to go.

YES, I went down the street, so proud of myself. I then turned down another street to head back to the house. I think I had the shit-eating 'look-at-me' grin on my face! Awesome, Wonderful! Until BAM! Who parked that car by the curb? I did not see it parked there, hit it hard and ended up on the trunk of the car. Luckily did not break anything. I looked around like a cat, no one saw me. I think I walked the bike back home.....
