what if...
they print names on the ticket and match them to id's at the entrance (like at the airport)... someone said it would make the lines slower i.e. take longer to check people in... but they already stop every car and search for hidden passengers and a bunch of other shit, etc. so adding one more task times 55,000 ppl seems like a lot, but not all 55,000 arrive the same day and but if they increase personnel at the door, they can have one volunteer search the car while another matches id's to the ticket. And if the line get's longer, you snake them into folds like they do with people at the airport, so the empty space is fully utilized.

Scalpers would really be discouraged from buying up thousands of tickets if they had to go thru the hassle of changing the names once they sold the ticket because they'd have to go thru BM to transfer the tickets. BMOrg could also make the tickets non-transferable, but that seems way too extreme.

I'm seriously bummed about not getting a ticket. I doubt there will be very many tickets in the STEP program because everyone that has an extra ticket to get rid of will be scalping them at over inflated prices. The open sale in March is for only 10,000 tickets and those will be gone to the people and scalpers that have a fast internet within minutes. Not looking very good for my first burn. Maybe I'll never get the chance to go.

The lottery thing sucked ass. It caused a shit load of anxiety to a shit load of people. It broke up camps and generally made a mess of everything. Why couldn't they just fix the fucking servers and sell them normally?

About 30 miles south of the Playa is a dry lake bed called Winnemucca, maybe I'll just camp there for a week and make my own burn.

It sounds corny, but i really understand it when peeps say they want to return 'home',

not to me I wrote poetry about it. i too dreamed of home and went a little hysterical when i got there.

There is just such negativity floating around the community that it worries me. Have had few people on here remind me that eplaya is not representative of the burn itself, but I just have some serious concerns that this is indicative -- although in an exaggerated sense -- of the feeling of the community itself.

I just do not see how it wouldnt manifest itself in some form on the playa. Then again we do have what, seven months for things to calm down?
