An excellent point, jkisha. Some banks get twitchy over unusual behavior, or you may have hit a daily spending limit without knowing it and require some kind of special approval for the transaction to be able to proceed (happened to my girlfriend a few years back when purchasing a computer).

I would not assume that it was. Go ahead and email the Org as directed. It probably won't take very long, you have little to lose (and perhaps something nice to gain).

Yes, but call your bank first just to find out why it was declined. This will, IMHO, be important to know when talking to the ticket people, especially if it was a bank error.

I actually went into my card issuer and bank, and they looked into my account and confirmed that there were no transaction restrictions in place. So perhaps it was a data entry error on my part. They are contacting me within a day to re-submit my registration info.

Frankly, I'd keep the tickets' appearance under wraps as long as possible, if it were up to me. It would delay the counterfeiters.

While participants in the main sale will find out the results by the first of February, ticket fulfillment won't happen until June. You probably won't see many pics online until then.

Counterfeit tickets are created by the nasty and thieving, and accidentally purchased by the trusting. Many people buy and sell genuine tickets to friends/family/strangers when their plans change, but there were a few attempts at counterfeit sales last year. I don't know if anyone fooled by a counterfeit actually got to the Gate before realizing the problem, but you can be sure they didn't get in. So if they got all that way with fake tickets, it must have been terrible.

So, no . . . posting what the tickets look like early is not a great idea. Although they sure are pretty.

(And no, I do not get to see them.)

I really, really wanted to do the Curry mile when I visited my sister in Oldham, but it didn't work out. Found out about it in wikipedia.

And yeah, 500 year old buildings are pretty thick on the ground there, and practically non-existant over here. So, yeah, I knew there were older, but it seemed a good metric.

I changed the title of this thread to Official "I've been awarded tickets in the pre-sale" Thread, and I'm closing this thread since the pre-sale drawing ended weeks ago and I think those who cared to post about being awarded tickets have done so.

I will start an Official "I've been awarded tickets in the main sale" Thread next week, when the drawing has begun as well as an Official "I didn't get tickets in the main sale" Thread when the drawing has completed (on or before February 1).
