Gas station open late / wendesday night arrival?

My friends and I have decided to try to make it into the city pretty late on Wednesday... my concerns are two fold:

We want to be able to fill up our gas tanks prior to coming on playa... will there be a gas station in either Gerlach or Empire that is open late?

Also, what kind of wait times to get in the gate will we be looking at if we are arriving around midnight?
