"Fertility" better not be a front for Ba'al.

Fertility 2.0 - Black Rock City is a kind of Petri dish. Theme camps cling in fertile clusters to its latticework of streets, artworks tumble out of it, like pollen on the air. These nodes of interaction mutate, grow and reproduce their kind. Burning Man communities have now escaped this capsule world: our culture in a Petri dish has effloresced - it spreads across five continents. This year's art theme contemplates the tendency of any being or living system to create abundant life.

"Fertility" better not be a front for Ba'al.

...Because the quickest thing my mind jumps to is conspiracies... Every major pagan god was associated with fertility, and we know how insidious their worshipers are. I guess it would obvious if they named the streets after Isis, Osiris, Gaia, Aphrodite, Ishtar, Moloch, and shit like that. If Burning Man gets overrun by fertility god cults, they might as well change the man to a golden calf. :( :( :(

I wouldn't worry. It's a statistical fact that only 21% of burners attending any burn pay the slightest attention to the theme.

Do paleolithic societies have fertility gods/desses?

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realised that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me.
