Hey guys,
PopTart here, 2012 Baal-Mart camp coordinator. For the (new ) record:

One of the new entrants to the camp was stirring up trouble. This was unbeknownst to me our my fellow core members who rarely use ePlaya. As such, my first reaction was a bit heavy handed complete with a few F-bombs. As far as censorship goes, i stand by my previous words, and would not have minded them staying here forever. I've met the camper in person, and he seems like a decent fellow, but is still at a learning phase in life. Mal/Baal-Mart is a snarky camp, but a 100% hate free zone of happy, accepting, mellow people. We do not tolerate the kind of negativity being directed at Simon, on his own thread, in this virtual simulacrum of The (True) Happiest Place on Earth. The Root Sciety is quite frankly one of the coolest camps there is, and much of that is due to Simon's direct efforts. Furthermore, this thread is a collection of some truely awesome music. I apologize intensely for the actions of my camper, who has been talked with.

Let's move on with the awesomeness.

geeeeeez. this thread got quickly out of hand. Simon, you're a fun dude but as someone who consistently dishes out snark on eplaya and hijacks posts you sure were touchy on this thread. i dont know "cpart" but his posts did not warrant being reprimanded or chastised with such alarm. i've seen far worse by the regulars on eplaya (Simon included) and it's just been biz as usual on eplaya. censorship does indeed suck and i've learned to treat most of the ribbing on this board as aggressive ball busting but sometimes the violent stuff and name calling goes a teeny bit over the line as trilobite has shown.

anyhoo, i think most people (including cpart mind you) are totally EXCITED for Root Society coming back and kicking ass! i'll be there dancing and helping you MOOP so your asses arent red on the map again.

I stand where i stand and am willing to move forward but i will not budge on the fact that i was provoked and responded in kind after more than fair warning..

As a neutral outsider, I didn't think cpart didn't anything so atrocious. Sure, he made fun of Skrillex. And before I know it, shit hit the roof.
There has been plenty of thread hijacks before and it has never stopped because someone was asked to cease and desist. Why should this be an exception?

Im gonna chalk up the above comment as one from somebody who didnt see the gifs that were removed or the sig lines that got changed and just say you are uninformed.


One last thing.

I apologize to the board and especially Trilo for all of this...i made his life more difficult as a result of my actions and am truly sorry for this.

I also apologize to anyone who may have taken my snark in the wrong way.


My snark gun is getting more accurate, and i try to reserve it for deserving targets.

When i am wrong, and that happens, i try to correct or apologize on line or off...

You have good taste, nothing against that, but sometimes its better for everyone involved to just walk away. Like breaking up with my last girlfriend.... To much history, and its best to just part ways and move on...

There is so much to do, so much to make, so much to enjoy, and so much ePlaya to do it on... no need to linger here...

In 2010 Root Society (if i can remember correctly) had 2 domes and video wall. The set up was sick, they had set up so they took over both sides of 10 oclock.

When we walked up this first time,our minds were blown, the video wall faced out to the playa and was fucking awesome.
