to the OP, nah without knowing it you're just dredging up old school slang. First time I heard banger was in reference to Head-banger which was an 80's hairband Def Leopard kind of thing or Crue etc. hence, that's a 'head-banging track' as it became known and then techno started to roll off the table and before you know it, 'that's some bangin' wax' was floating around.
