Burning Man, art in the desert from all over the world!

The Nebraska Regional Burning Man group is called Tallgrass Burners, and we have been invited to participate in the 2012 Burning Man Circle Of Regional Effigies Project (the C.O.R.E. Project).
"Once a year, tens of thousands of people gather in Nevada's Black Rock Desert (also known as "the playa") to create Black Rock City, a temporary metropolis dedicated to community, art, self-expression, and self-reliance. They depart one week later, having left no trace whatsoever." ~From the Burning Man website.
What the heck are we are doing?
The concept behind our CORE Project (the piece) is to portray the state of Nebraska, and the stereotype that that implies; a rural, conservative, boring place with no art, culture or very much of any interest at all.
Upon entering the piece, you will find that once you get inside and look around, there's actually a lot more to Nebraska than you thought! Art, culture and a lot of things you never would have expected!
Physically, the piece represents Nebraska in literal shape. You enter from the "east" side, and inside there is a stairway that leads up to the "panhandle" of Nebraska, a raised viewing platform that represents the high plains. Inside on the lower level there will be benches, a nice place to sit and relax! The whole piece is topless, as in there's no roof, allowing great stargazing opportunities (something that Nebraska itself also offers.)
What we need to pull this off:
Simply put, cash. We have our materials estimate at a very conservative $1,400. Other expenses include transportation (truck rental), fuel to transport, tools and equipment for cleanup (some of this has already been purchased), fire extinguishers and other fire safety equipment, and flame retardant vests and gear for around 25 people. All told, we are estimating a need of approximately $4,500.
Other Ways You Can Help
If you just can't help with a gift of cash, you can still help Tallgrass Burners and the Nebraska Region represent at Burning Man. Helping us show the world, or at least a world of 50,000 Burners, that Nebraska isn't all farms, windmills and corn.
How? Spread the word!! Post this page to your facebook, twitter, linkedin, digg, reddit, anybeat, myspace, etc. Tell your friends, let them know that we need the help of the thousands of people out there who understand what an amazing and special treasure that Burning Man and Burner culture is.
This is an especially great opportunity for the many people who can't go to Burning Man this year, for whatever reason, but still want to know that they helped contribute to Black Rock City in 2012.
