One of the hottest boys I ever met on the playa was an engineer, and he had zero "style" (he's of the Utility school as well), but he had an amazing personality, a great sense of joy & wonderment... he was someone people wanted to be around. The clothes had nothing to do with it.
Personally I wear t-shirts & clown pants or pj bottoms during the day, suits & ties at night. I like suits & ties, I'm comfortable in them, I wear them. Done. (granted, they tend to be flashy, but they're still suits & ties).
